name explanation

Why the name St. Theodore?

Well, first off it has nothing to do with the St. Theodore who was the archbishop of Canterbury in the seventh century.

As cool as that would be the name actually has an even more obscure meaning.

Dan Heroy, the lone member of St. Theodore grew up on a Street called Theodore Street. When deciding on a name for his solo music project he thought to incorporate this Street name somehow. By reversing Theodore Street and then using “St.” instead of the spelled out word, you are naturally left with St. Theodore which technically would be “street Theodore” but no-one, including Heroy, calls it such. It is pronounced “Saint Theodore.” The street sign logo that St. Theodore uses frequently is an actual photo of the Theodore Street sign, sliced and reversed to form the band name.
